New INH album
The first new material to emerge from the unkempt and often ignored vaults of Insert Name Here quietly found its way onto Bandcamp over Easter. Consisting of 2 long drone pieces 'A tiny opening in a blackened sky' is rumoured to make a surprisingly good alternative soundtrack to television shows featuring the undead. Flavor Crystals 'Three' Triple LP Available Now
Over the last little while we have been quietly spreading this gem of an album throughout New Zealand. The album is comprised of Three (funny that) mind-blowing slabs of white vinyl packed with Flavor Crystals' uniquely wobbly and sonically beautiful form of psych rock. These guys just seem to keep getting better with each release, I'm already looking forward to album number four. More details...... about crooked little fingersWe like tape recorders even though we sometimes use pro-tools or other forms of digital audio manipulation controlled by a mouse. We like records even though we make CDs and own iPods. We like cutting out album covers, folding them and sticking them together by hand even though it would be faster, cheaper and with better results if we paid someone to do it for us. We like making strange noise in our garages (well we did when we had a garage) even if the neighbours give us funny looks. We talk in the 'Royal We' even thought there is just one of us. We write songs which we sing and record when the kids our tucked in and we are sure no-one can hear us. We make music because we don't know how to not make music.
OK I know that doesn't make much sense, but it kinda sums up what we (alright there is no we) are about. This website is intended to be a home of sorts for the various music related projects that I have stuck my fingers into in some way or other, most of which don't have much internet presence. |
