Short lived indie band formed in Christchurch NZ in 2003 featuring Ashley Davies (guitar, bass vocals), Ryan Munt (guitar vocals), Chris Molloy (drums) and Craig Houghton (me, on guitar, bass and vocals). Technically not my first band (The Huhu formed in 2002, I left then rejoined a couple of years later) but in all other ways it was my first band. ROE existed for approximately 18 months. In that time we recorded two short snappy albums and played live a whopping 3 times at Lyttleton's infamous Wunderbar, known for it's lightshades made of dolls heads and a fuseball table which set Nazi's against Jews. Political incorrectness aside it was a pretty cool venue. Midway through 2004 Chris and Ashley relocated to Japan where they would spread the English language and Ashley would spend several years playing bass for The Watanabes. Midway through 2005 I moved back to Wellington where I would rejoin The Huhu and shortly afterwards Ryan went to Adelaide briefly and broke both of his wrists. He may have fallen off a roof, I'm not quite sure but I think the incident inspired this entire album.
